The following are examples that would and would not merit a review to consider an extension:

Would merit a review for an extension:

  • A specific program plan prescribed by the Center for Access-Ability Resources (CAAR).
  • Significant university-initiated curricular changes to your academic degree requirements which increased the number of required hours by at least 12 semester hours.
  • Having a university withdrawal granted for more than one semester for medical or military reasons.

** Submitting an appeal under these circumstances does not guarantee an extension.**

Would NOT merit a review for an extension:

  • A significant number of course withdrawals.
  • A history of repeated courses.
  • Significant hours of electives that are not relevant to your current degree program.
  • Periods of non-enrollment.
  • Lack of initial academic preparation.
  • A change of major. 

Extension Appeal Process
Undergraduate students who wish to request consideration for a one-semester extension for Truth in Tuition must submit a written request using the form below by December 1, 2008 to your major college office.
