Students who demonstrate strong motivation and potential for success in college but do not meet one or more of the admission criteria of the NIU Office of Undergraduate Admissions may be considered for admission through the CHANCE Program.
Beyond the ACT and high school transcripts, CHANCE looks for characteristics such as special talents, significant activities and accomplishments, leadership potential, personal commitment, and goal orientation.
Admission can thus be extended to students who agree to conscientiously make use of Educational Services and Programs and related university services as a means to ensure success at NIU.
